Welcome to JMU's FLOSP Program

In the summer of 1996, the JMU CSD department received a grant from the Virginia Department of Education to help facilitate licensure of SLPs in the schools (FLOSP) within a reasonable time frame. Through this project, we are able to offer needed courses on-campus, at off-campus sites, and provide on-the-job supervision to help meet practicum requirements.

We are continuously assessing part-time student needs, including course titles and offering dates and locations. Off-campus courses are periodically offered in Northern Virginia, Fredericksburg, Richmond, Farmville, and Lynchburg. FLOSP students are expected to take evening and summer courses on the JMU campus throughout their matriculation.

Announcement

The FLOSP program is no longer accepting new students. James Madison University, Hampton University, Longwood University and the University of Virginia have teamed together to be able to provide access to an accredited Masters degree in speech language pathology through distance education technologies. This project is designed for persons interested in earning a Masters degree in speech language pathology on a part time basis through online technology. "Career changers" and educators are encouraged to apply. For more information you can explore the Distance Learning in Virginia Educating Speech Language Pathologists (DLVE-SLP) website at the following address: www.dlve-slp.org
