- Favorite memory/moment since becoming an audiologist: The year 1988! In that year these remarkable things happened:
- Ed Rubel and I published our discovery of hair cell regeneration in the journal Science;
- the National Institute on Deafness was founded;
- the American Academy of Audiology was founded; and
- my son was born!
- Funniest quote from a colleague/student: Not really from a colleague, but I like to paraphrase Einstein: “Smart people solve problems, geniuses prevent them.” Or, another favorite from Gary Larson: “Fools, they made me a free range chicken and I never looked back”.
